What if I want to leave before my plan ends?
This is the difference you'd pay, depending on the month you leave.
| You leave after | 6-month plan ($700,000/month) | 9-month plan ($650,000/month) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $200,000 | $250,000 |
| 2 months | $400,000 | $500,000 |
| 3 months | $300,000 | $450,000 |
| 4 months | $400,000 | $600,000 |
| 5 months | $500,000 | $750,000 |
| 6 months | Plan completed | $300,000 |
| 7 months | — | $350,000 |
| 8 months | — | $400,000 |
| 9 months | — | Plan completed |
We recalculate at the price of the plan you did complete, and you pay the difference. No penalties. You give 30 days' written notice. Why does it drop at month 3 and month 6? Because by then you've completed a longer period, and the recalculation uses that rate: $800,000 a month from month 3 and $700,000 from month 6.
What are you paying for?
Groups of 5, not 20
The same hour of class, with four times more time to speak. How we teach (in Spanish).
A native teacher in every class
Groups and 1-to-1, always with certified native teachers. Meet the team (in Spanish).
You pay for a period, not per class
You don't learn English in one-off classes. You learn it by showing up every week (article in Spanish).
What else would you like to know?
What does the plan price include?
Every class at your level while your plan is active, with a native teacher, the study plan for your level, a level check when you start and a progress session roughly every 15 days. No sign-up fee and no hidden costs.
How many classes does each plan include?
As many as you like: Monday to Thursday mornings and evenings, and Friday mornings. You can go to one a day, two, or all of them. The price is the same.
Do the prices include VAT (IVA)?
Yes. $900,000, $700,000 or $650,000 a month is what you pay. No sign-up fee and no extra charges.
Do you issue an electronic invoice?
Yes. For every payment we email you an electronic invoice (factura electrónica) that is valid with the DIAN, Colombia's tax authority. If your company pays for your classes and needs the invoice in its name, tell us and we issue it with the company's NIT. Training a team? See English for companies.
How do I pay? Do I have to pay everything at once?
Month by month: the first month when you start, and the rest on the same day each month. Paying the whole plan up front is optional and gives you 5% off: $3,990,000 for 6 months and $5,550,000 for 9. You can pay by debit or credit card, PSE, Nequi, Bancolombia or DaviPlata through Wompi, or by bank transfer.
Do I need to commit to start?
No. The no-commitment plan is $900,000 a month and you can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. The 6- and 9-month plans exist because they lower the price: $700,000 and $650,000 a month.
Can I pause my plan?
Yes, once per plan, for up to 30 days, with 5 days' written notice. Your plan is extended by that time. This applies to the 6- and 9-month plans; on the no-commitment plan you simply cancel.
What happens if I leave before my plan ends?
We recalculate at the price of the plan you did complete, and you pay the difference. No penalties. For example, on the 6-month plan, if you leave after 2 months you pay a $400,000 difference. You give 30 days' written notice.
What level do I need to start?
None — you can start from zero. We run three levels: Basic (A1–A2), Intermediate (B1–B2) and Advanced (C1). After you pay, the team checks your level and places you.
How long will it take me to reach B2?
It depends on where you start and how consistent you are, so we don't promise timelines. What matters most isn't one intense week — it's showing up every week.
Can I switch between 1-to-1 and group classes?
Yes, at the end of the period you're paying for. In the middle of a commitment, we either wait until it ends or apply the early-exit recalculation.
Are the classes live or recorded?
Live and online, always. We don't sell recorded classes: if you miss one, you join the next.
How does it compare with a traditional academy or a mass online platform?
Traditional in-person academies usually charge per level or per full programme, with groups of 10 to 25 people; most don't publish prices, so any figure is only a reference. Mass online platforms are cheap per month, but with unlimited group sizes your speaking time is minimal. Modo sits in between: a clear price, groups of up to 5, a native teacher in every class, live and every day. See prices in Colombia (in Spanish).
What if I don't improve?
We talk about it and look for the cause: too few classes, the wrong level, or an unclear goal. We adjust the plan with you. We don't guarantee a level in a fixed time, because no honest method can.
How soon can I start?
You usually start that same week. For 1-to-1, within 2 to 5 working days while we set the schedule with your teacher.
